They are unlocked by killing the Human player actively wearing the suit while playing as a Necromorph (hence the name "Viral").
Viral Suits are a special type of suit that can be unlocked in Dead Space 2 Multiplayer. The Zealot Suit is available with the Collector's Edition of Dead Space 2 and can be used in both Story Mode and Multiplayer, but with no special bonuses in the latter.
(However they can also be obtained without levelling up through modifying the unlock values within the game's files) These suits can be unlocked upon reaching a certain level. The version of Security Suits featured in multiplayer are noticeably missing a heads-up-display projector, as they were not needed for gameplay purposes. Dead Space 2 Multiplayer features many variants of the Security Suit that can be unlocked for the Titan Station Security Force.
